Some congratulations are in order for superstar Wout van Aert.
This past Sunday, he captured the Belgian national cyclocross championship and will get to sport the iconic jersey for the next year.
As if that wasn't enough, he also announced the birth of son Georges with wife Sarah, just a few days prior.
By his own admission, he didn't get much sleep in the run-up to Sunday's race at Meulebeke, stating "... I barely slept for six nights. I did not have the energy I wanted to have, but I am very happy with this title."
van Aert is scheduled to use a break in the racing calendar to recover and reload in advance of the upcoming World Championship, which hopefully includes catching up on his sleep with a newborn in the household.
